It waa rumored yesterday that he had resifrned, but his friends assert that he has tendered no formal resignation, but is almpiy retiring with the expiration of his term.

It ha been known for some time that Mr. Burke's conduct of the Anaconda postofflce was under official investigation, and Mr. Burke has admitted that the report of the postal Inspectors waa unfavorable to htm. In his zeal to make a showing of increased receipts at the postofflce, it is said that Mr. Burke violated the strict requirements of the department at Washington, and committed irregularities, which resulted in charges being preferred against him.

No tant of suspicion rests on any of the post-office employes. Mr. Burke could not be found last night McGuire Suffered Twenty Long Years Tanlac Overcomes Troubles and He Feek Like New Man. "I have actually gained eight pounds daring the past three or four weeks, and I certainly wish I bad words to express my thanks for the wonderful good Tanlac has done me," said John W.
