Allen, former Anaconda resi dent, who has been making his home at Hamilton for the past three years, arrived in the city yesterday for a week's visit with old-time friends. Mr. Allen was formerly located on Mill creek, near where the present scnooihouse stands. The largest Christmas tree that can possibly be got Into the hall will be on display at the Salvation Army headquarters this evening at 8 'o'clock. Plana call for the presentation of about 500 presents and there will be sufficient candy to make at least 200 Juveniles happy.

Frank Travis, who is making his winter headquarters on upper Race Track creek, about three miles above Danielsville, was in the city yester day attending to business matters. He reports a heavy snowfall in the moun tains, but owing to the recent thaw was able to reach the city without the aid of snowshoes. He says the fuel shortage did not affect him, as the hills are full of wood, and so long as the supply of snowshoe rabbits holds out there is no danger of his starving to death. F. W. Peckover company. Deputy Sheriff Ernest Gillespie, who was called to Blackfoot, Idaho, last week by the illness of his father, returned yesterday. His father was on the road to recovery when he left Miss Julia Washburne, the school teacher at the Blue Eyed Nellie was so unfortunate as to lose her monthly county warrants yesterday.
