1 Lewis Terwllllger, Park county high school student, bagged a large black bear recently while on a deer hunting trip ln the White Sulphur Springs country. The Livingston young man encountered the bear on a mountain slope and brought lt down with hots from a .300 Savage. He was accompanied on the hunting trip by his father, Homer Terwilliger. Mrs. Mattie Campbell of Chanute, who has been the guest of her brother, J. C. Seidensticker and family, and her sisters, Mrs. Charles Harvey and Mrs.

William RUppel, for several months, left Thursday for Los Angeles where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Robert Fuller. Mr. and Mrs. John Reynolds are the parents of a son born at the Barrett hospital in Dillon Oct.

George Wright and MrS. L. L. Marshr entertained at a 1:30 luncheon at the home of the former. During the business meeting, officers were elected as follows: Mrs.

Minnie McHarg, Mrs. Bertha Heckman, vice president; and Mrs. Rakeman, secretary. The group presented Mrs. Bert Koons with a farewell gift.

In charge of shipments locally is the J. Hoefert company of Tacoma; Western Tree, company of Kalispel); and the G. E.

Kirk company of Seattle. The majority of the trees villi be consigned to Illinois, Texas, California and Iowa and lt is estimated that approximately 75 cars 'will leave Poison before the current season ls closed. W. S. C.

S. Plans Bazaar, Dinner Other Drummond Events, Reported DRUMMOND. Nov. 2. A regular meeting of the Women's Society for Christian Service was held at the ranch home of Mrs.

Malcolm Enman Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Emerson Fickler, president, presided at the meeting. Detailed plans were made for the bazaar and dinner which is to be given by the ladies on election evening. Lunch will also be served in the afternoon.

T. M. Hughes as a hill billy and Mrs. Jody Stokes as a cat; fourth, Mrs. Marvin Beck as an old-fashioned lady, and Mrs.

Dallas Hosbrook as a hula hula girl. Grade and high school teacher attended teacher's institute at Helena last week. School was dismissed Wednesday evening and resumed classes Monday morning. Announcements were received here of the birth of a boy to Mr. and Mrs.

R. L. Graham in Portland, Oct. 23, Mrs. Graham, who grew to womanhood in this vicinity, is the former Anabel Schmook.

Work. Hannah Simonsen, Poison, Is Dead POLSON, Nov. 2. Mrs. Hannah Simonsen, 71-year-old Poison resident, died Oct.

25 at a local hospital following illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Retz chapel Monday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Norman R. Prestbye officiating. Burial was ln Lakevlew cemetery beside her husband, who passed away ln 1942.

Pallbearers were Harold Karls-godt, Hawkln Karlsgodt, Daurlce Robertson, Lester James, Frank Davis and Die Stenseth. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Kelly. Oeorge Regsten, Ole Karlsgodt, I. A. Robertson, George Derrickson and Charles Reynolds.

Mrs. Simonsen, a native of Iowa, had lived ln Poison for the past 20 years. She leaves four children, Mrs. Robert Upham, Arnold Simonsen, Jalmar A. Simonsen and George N.

Simonsen. all of Poison; two sisters, Miss Wenla Reine and Miss Slgne Reine, Poison; and several nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada and North Dakota, WHITEHALL, Nov. 3. Funeral nervices were held in the Methodist church Friday afternoon for Conrad H. Miller, 60, pioneer cabinet maker and carpenter, who died at his home here Oct.

Burial was In the Whitehall cemetery. Born ln Clayton, July 30, 1865, he was educated as an architect, the profession he followed until his retirement 10 years ago. Married in 1892 to AMna Wagner at Wittenberg, WU he came- ta Montana and Jefferson county ln 1908. Mr. Miller was an ardent baseball enthusiast.

He directed and assistsd in constructing the Miller baseball park ln Whitehall. He had a part in the construction of th Milwaukee road through Montana, being employed as a carpenter on that project. He spent a good share of his time since his retirement at his cabin at Meadow Lake. Mr. Miller is survived by hla widow, now residing with a daughter in Concord, three sons, Leonard of Whitehall, Edmund A.

of Chicago and William of Los Angeles, and two daughters, Mrs. Ellzabetn Edwards of Concord, and Mrs. Janotha VanSant of Orange, and two grandchildren. Ennis Personal Notes Recorded ENNIS, Nov. 2.

Claude Windecker of the Jumping Horse ranch attended the 1944 instate Hereford futurity show and sale at Billings Oct. 27-28. Mr. and Mrs. E.

E. Olson and daughter, Margaret Ann, and Mrs. L. J. Baker went to Helena Thursday where Mr.

Harstad of Bozeman and daughter, Virginia, spent the week end with Mrs. Har-stad's mother, Mrs. Austin Jeffers. Man Makes Surprise Visit to Sheridan SHERIDAN, Nov. 2.

Sgt. Jack Fenton, who has been in Japan with the S. occupational forces for the past year, arrived unexpectedly at his home Saturday evening. Jack had planned a complete surprise for his parents, leaving letters to be posted from Japan at In-teryals during his trip home. However, he was compelled to call from Whitehall, for lack of transportation to Sheridan.

His sister, Miss Virginia Fenton, a student at ths State college ln Bozeman, was notified and came to Sheridan to spend the week end for a family reunion. Sgt. Fenton is on terminal leave, and expects his honorable discharge in December. Mrs. Adolph Kellgren.

Mrs. Paul Johnson and Arthur Salmonsen left Sunday to attend the state convention of the Farmers Union, held in Great Falls this week. Halloween Party Is Enjoyed by Class WHITEHALL, Nov. 2. The Junior members of the high school home economics club entertained the senior members at a Halloween party Tuesday evening at the Herman Miller residence.

Refreshments were served after an evening of games. Reprtientatlves from each class will attend the district meeting to be held at Sheridan on Saturday, Nov. 2. Mrs. Frank Taylor entertained with a luncheon Tuesday afternoon at her home.

D. Rossiter, who was a. patient in a hospital there. Mrs. Hildred Miller and Mrs.

R. A. Rodgers of California, who are guests in Sheridan, returned Saturday from Helena where they spent several days visiting friends. Mrs. Harry Howe was hostess for members of the Womens Society for Christian Service at her home on Mill street Thursday afternoon.

Charles Frederick Brim, returned veteran, who' is attending school at the Southern Branch of Idaho State university at Pocatello, spent the week "end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Brim.

Wayna Elser and Raymond Breach returned Saturday from Kansas City, where they attended the national convention of Future Farmers of America as delegates from the local chapter. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bray that their son. Kenneth, a patient at the Mayo clinic in Rochester, has had the last of a series of operations and is making a satisfactory recovery.

Holy communion" services were held Sunday in Christ Episcopal church by the Rev. Norman Foote of Helena, former pastor here. He was assisted by the Rev. Clifford Samuelson of New York city, and the Rev. William Davidson of Townsend.

Belgrade Girl Weds in Falls Ceremony BELGRADE, Nov. 2. A wedding of special interest to classmates and friends of the family, was that of Miss Vera Mae Moore and Donald R. Matthews at the Methodist church in Great Falls Oct. 20 at 2 o'clock.

Rev. Carl H. Davison officiated. The double ring cere mony was performed. The bride is the younger daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Walter R. Moore of Belgrade, and she was given in marriage by her father. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Tracy Wilson of Bozeman, as matron of honor, and her bridesmaids were Miss Julia Medvic and Miss Vernette Robinson of Great Falls.

John Morlarty was best man and Phillip Ryan and William Davis were ushers. The bride was attired in a floor-length, white satin gown, with long pointed sleeves and veil and carried a colonial bouquet of flowers. Nuptial music was furnished by Mrs. Curtis Weisman at the organ. She accompanied Melvln Rude, who sang.

A reception was held at the Park hotel, after, which the couple left by plane for eastern Montana. They will live in Great Falls. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore, others attending the wedding were Mr.

and Mrs. Tracy Wilson and small daughter of Bozeman and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Sellaer of Bozeman, uncle and aunt of the bride. The bride is a graduate of the Belgrade high school and has been employed in the office of the General Mills company in Great Falls.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe- Matthews of Great Falls. Anniversary Dance Is Scheduled BOULDER-BASIN, Nov. 2.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 874 of Basin are giving a dance at the Miners' Union in Basin Saturday evening, Nov. 16. This dance is being given to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the Eagles of this area. Mr.

Prior to the business session, a dinner wss served by the Star chapter. Members and three guests of the Past Noble Grand circle were entertained at a chicken dinner at the home of Mr. W. J. Reeder Friday evening.

Despite the rain and snow a good attendance was had. Mrs. Elsie Palmer presided at a short business session. The next hostess will be Mrs. Lillie Thurston.
