Parish, chairman and Mrs. Joseph R. Richards, co-chairman, were in charge of a social Thursday afternoon in the American Legion hall, sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary. Miss Pauline Steadman assisted the chairman. Games and cards gave pleasure and refreshments were served.

Anaconda Senior Womans club members will meet at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Hearst free library clubrooms. Miss Anna Davidson will preside. Mrs. C. E.

Avery will rea-' the club collect. Mrs. L. M. Bond, chairman of the arts and crafts department, will present the program.

Dr. K. A. Tyler of the state hospital at Galen will be the speaker. Vocal selections will be given by Miss Marjorie Corcoran, accompanied by Mrs.

B. Edwards ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Mr. and Mrs.

R. R. Redd announce the marriage of their daughter, Wanda Frances, to E. B. Edwards Wednesday evening, November 8.

in the family home at 400 Alder. The Rev. James M. Hunter, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated. Attendants were brother-in-law and sister of the bride, Mr.

and Mrs. Byron Sanderson. Among the guests was the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Grace Thompson of Elliston. Both the bride and bridesmaid wore tailored suits with corsages.

After the ceremony, a wedding diner was served to 20 guests. A bridal cake formed the principal centerpiece for the table was beautifully decorated with silver tapers and roses. Large baskets of gladioli and chrysanthemums decorated the rooms. After a short wedding trip, the bridal couple established residence at the bridegroom's ranch in Rock Creek. The bride was employed at Fitz-simmons General hospital in Denver before her marriage.

The. bridegroom is a widely known stockman in the Flint Creek and Rock Creek valleys. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Edwards.

Professor Will Address Women ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Dr. Lucia B. Mirrillees, professor of English at Montana University, Missoula, will address the American Association of University Women at a din fidget go Mr.

and Mrs. Patrick J. Thompson, 2418 Locust, announce the marriage of their daughter, Margaret, to Harvey D. Allen, the ceremony taking place Wednesday, November 8, at St. Thomas rectory at Camas, Wash.

The Rev. Father Hayes officiated. Mrs. Hugh Cunningham of Butte, an aunt of the bride, was bridesmaid. John Mueller of Camas, was best man.

The bride wore a chiffon gown of black and white combination and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Following the ceremony, a wedding supper was served. A tiered wedding cake formed the central motif. Covers were placed for members of the bridal party and relatives of the couple. Among those In attendance was Mrs.

Thompson, mother of the bride. Mrs. Allen, a member of a prominent Butte family, was graduated from St. Ann grade school and the Girls Central high school with the class of 1944. Mr.

Allen is employed at the Willamette Paper mill at Camas, where the couple will reside. Soldier ls Feted at Dinner ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Mr. and Mrs.

H. M. Davenport entertained at a dinner Friday in their home, 713 West Fifth, complimenting their son, Corp. Floyd Davenport, of Camp Wolters, Texas, and their sister and sister-in-law, Mrs. Myrl Power, and daughter, Patty, Lewisp, Wash.

Present besides the honor guests were Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Stephens and son, Clarence; Mr.

and Mrs. C. D. Talcott and children. Dexter and Joanne; Mrs.

E. C. Paige and sons, Ronald and Duane, of Twin Bridges; Mr. and Mrs. C.

D. Green and sons, Delmar and Donald, of Anaconda. Ball Scheduled ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Active club members will entertain at their annual ball Saturday night, November 25, in the Montana hotel dining room.

ALLEN Anniversary of Wedding Is Observed ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Mr. and Mrs. Charles E.

Farnsworth, residents of Anaconda for 35 years, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Wednesday, November 8. They were married in Chicago, 111., November 8, 1894, and came to Anaconda in 1909. They are the parents of three children, Jeannette Farnsworth, Chicago; Rbert, who is with a railway operating battalion in the Army service forces, somewhere in France, and Mrs. George Dyas of Anaconda. They have two grandchildren, Keith and David Dyas, in Anaconda.

Club to Assemble ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Knife and Fork club members of Anaconda, Philipsburg, Deer Lodge and the Deer Lodge valley will meet at 7 o'clock Wednesday night in the Montana hotel. Judge R. E.

She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Friendship Club Entertained ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Mrs. Anna Pilon was hostess to the Friendship club at her home Sunday evening, November 12.

Sixteen hands of pinochle were played after which refreshments were served. Present were Mrs. Claudia Sager, Mrs. Margaret Lucier, Mrs. Florence LaForest, Mrs.

Carrie Davenport, Mrs. Katherine Simonson, Mrs. Mildred Stokan, Mrs. Mildred Welch and Mrs. Cornelia Lescantz.

Mrs. Orrien Geil was a guest. Pinochle was played. Business Women Hold Session ANACONDA, Nov. 18.

Business and Professional Womens club members met Wednesday evening in the Montana hotel for a dinner and business session. Josephine Walsh presided. The committee in charge included Hazel Coffey, chairman, Ann Hunter and Esther Coburn. The next meeting will be December 20. The committee in charge will include Kate Verlanic, Amelia Donlch, Lois Davidson and Lillian Anderson.

The club sponsored a successful review of Tom Savage's book, "The Pass," -y Mrs. E. L. Kunkel Monday evening. Mrs.

Strain. Doris Axelson of Los Angeles is visiting her father, William Axel-son. Plays Presented BOZEMAN, Nov. 18. The Emerson junior high school presented two one-act plays concerning schools in war time, to mark the observance of American Education week.

Those having speaking parts were all from the seventh grade and included Kay Caldwell, Doris John- son, Dean Moore, Arlene Stephen- son, Glenn Lemon, Marjorie Ander- son, Delia Rae Pass, Lorene Funk, i Naomi Pace, Eunice Welsh, Jack Sievert, Lloyd Poor and Jack Chip man. ANACONDA, Nov. 18. A wedding October 31 united Patricia Charlotte Coverdale and Flight Officer Joseph Lee Scott in St. Martin chapel of St.

John Episcopal cathedral in Denver. Dean Paul Roberts of the cathedral officiated. Capt. Owen D. Roane of Gainesville, Texas, and Iris Creach of Denver were the attendants.

The bride wore a melon color dressmaker suit. Her accessories were of pale blue. She had a white orchid corsage. The bride, daughter of Mrs. Katherine Coverdale, 406 Elm, was graduated from Anaconda high school and attended Montana university majoring in journalism.

For the past year she was a reporter on the Daily Missoulian. She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega, national social sorority. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Lecn Whaley of Kilgore, Texas. He was graduated from Sel-man Field, Monroe, and received his wings and was commissioned in the Army of the United States.

He is now stationed in Tampa, where the bride has joined him. Members of Club Set Program ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Junior Womans club members will meet Tuesday night at 8 o'clock in the home of Mrs. Graham Cadwell, 600 West Third.

Mrs. Bennett Macln-tyre will preside. A program on "Old Treasures and Hobbies" will be presented. The committee includes Mrs. Roy Michaud, chairman, Mrs.

Harry Boscovich, Mrs. Jack Thompson and Mrs. Milfred Cowan. The club is planning a minstrel show produced and directed by Ernest Larish, assisted by Mrs. Helen Kelly in December.

Members are asked to bring hobbies or old treasures to the meeting. Refreshments will be served by the tea committee of which Mrs. Helen Davis and Mrs. Roy Smith are chairmen. Assisting them will be Mrs.

Edward Lovell, Mrs. Cliff Ulstad, Mrs. Robert Burch and Mrs. Dexter David. Navy Mothers Assemble ANACONDA, Nov.

18. Mrs. Alta Dingle presided at a meeting of the Anaconda Navy Mothers club which was held Friday. A large delegation of Butte Navy Mothers club were in attendance at the meeting. Following a report, given by the Butte and Anaconda clubs, on the work being done for the Navy hospitals and the boys overseas, movies were shown.

They featured the picnic held at the Columbia Gardens by the Butte Navy Mothers. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Birthday Party ANACONDA, Nov. 18. Donna Eamon was honored at a party on her birthday, Sunday, November 12, at her home, 1020 West Fifth.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gillespie, 606 Alder street, observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary Thursday. They were guests at a family dinner at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
