June 30. -Bernard (Barney) McGurk, well-known Dillon man. died last night at the Barrett hospital here as the result of injuries sustained in an accident on the E.

W. Smith ranch, near Donovan, in the upper Horse Prairie The accident occurred Sunday and the victim had been a patient at the hospital here, since Monday morning. According to it. received here, McGurk left house Sunday morning on horse. a riding toward the hills.

The honor of being chosen as "queen of beauty" is not a new one for Miss Hirschman, who last year was elected as the most beautiful girl in the Montana State Normal college, and prior to that time had won a number of popularity and beauty contests in high school and on other occasions. THREE CANDIDATES FILE. DILLON, June Three candidates filed for county offices yesterday afternoon and this morning. Rife, rancher of Armstead, filed for representative on the democratic ticket; Mrs. Clara Smith filed for the office of county superintendent and will seek the nomination on the republican ticket.

Mrs. Elizabeth Dunstan of Butte has been called to -Dillon by the serious condition of her son, Richard Dunstan, who was injured in an accident at the Noah Allen ranch, near Apex, last Sunday. DEER LODGE BUREAU LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL TO DEER LODGE MATRON DEER LODGE, June Elizabeth Ann Skinner, beloved matron of this city, died at the family residence at 4:15 a. m.

yesterday morning, after aL long illness. Mrs. Skinner was born in Morris county, N. Nov. 27, 1853 and 28 years of age arrived in Deer Lodge valley, where she has since made her home.

During her long residence here she made many friends who are grieved with the news of her death. Funeral services will be held Friday afternon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. W. W. McConnell officiating.

Interment will be in the Hillcrest cemetery beside the grave of her husband, Charles S. Skinner. The pallbearers will be H. W. Evans, L.
